Jerounds triumph in Boccia (Years 5 and 6)

Jerounds triumph in Boccia (Years 5 and 6)

Despite a smaller number of teams, the afternoon Boccia was a little more chaotic to start with than the morning event! Unfortunately, with lots of recent changes, despite 3 re-written schedules, a new rotation had to be hastily re-adjusted. However, as always, the support of the staff, meant the children were only waiting a few minutes whilst pitch layouts were reconfigured. Thanks to the school staff and Sports Leaders from Mark Hall Academy and Church Langley Primary School, the event ran smoothly from then onwards; the children producing moments of real quality as they began to use tactics to ensure their balls were closer to the Jack.

After some initial group games, the re-pooled ranked games proved closer competition. The final group saw Jerounds narrowly pip Milwards 1 and Milwards 2 into tied runner-up place, with Nazeing 4 finishing in the bronze medal position.

16 Teams attending were: Church Langley x 3, Jerounds x 2, Milwards x 2, Harlowbury, Nazeing x 4, Holy Cross, Purford Green x 2 and The Downs.
