A busy afternoon of football was had, as nearly 30 teams of Years 5 and 6 pupils attended the Best Team events at Mark Hall Academy and Passmores Academy for the qualifying event. As ever, both events were very popular and the reports from both organisers (David Stacey and Andy Martin) were that a high standard of football was played throughout the events, with teams passing and playing the ball on the surface as opposed to kicking and chasing. Given the windy conditions all the teams and players did really well and should feel proud of their individual and collective achievements.
The top teams from both groups will return to Mark Hall Academy next Friday afternoon to play off for the chance to represent Harlow in the forthcoming Essex County Finals in Melbourne, Chelmsford.
The Group results from Mark Hall were:
Group 1 (red)
Hatfield Heath – 9 points
Church Langley B – 8 points
Freshwaters – 8 points
Churchgate – 8 points
Saint Nicholas – 7 points
Group 2 (blue)
